Congratulations to all who raced on Sunday at Tidworth – 27 PPV members plus 2 coaches (head coach John Wann – showing how gentlemen race, and Matt Pritchard who threw caution as well as his transponder to the wind and tried cyclocross for the first time) and also the club treasurer on his trusty mountain bike!

Particular mention goes to James and Thomas Ashcroft, Arthur Boulton, Connie Stevens and Luke Peyton – all of whom were (I think) newcomers to the sport, with Luke riding his modified mountain bike up the steps on each lap to the cheers of spectators.  Also Cal Gorvy and Seth Payne  who had tried cyclocross just once or so before and both rode extremely well, Jamie Gostick who rode through the field in the U12 race after being snared on the first lap with a piece of wire through his chainset, Jay Allen who held onto 2nd in the U14s despite riding much of the final lap with a puncture, Emma Pitt whose family drove through the night down from Revolution in Glasgow in order to get to Tidworth, and also Thomas Clarke who bravely competed despite significant dressings on his leg from a nasty crash at Newport last weekend.
The results were particularly easy for this event due to the excellent judging team and the transponders they were using and I imagine many of who will have already looked them up on the Wessex CX website and analysed your individual lap times.
