Dear Members
Nominations are now open for the 2020 British Cycling MTB RSRs, for Boys & Girls born 2004, 2005 and 2006, with some Junior 2003 riders also being considered.
In case you do not know about RSRs (Regional Schools of Racing), they are part of the British Cycling talent pathway and are a full day session with British Cycling coaches. These sessions are for riders who are looking to progress in their racing, and should be already competing at least at regional level, and either already be racing nationally, or looking to do so next season. Further info can be found at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/getinvolved/article/20190715-about-bc-static-Useful-downloads-and-links-0?c=EN
For 2020, there are some specific MTB skills that are required for all riders, and details can be found at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/zuvvi/media/bc_files/coaching/RSR_Criteria_Shorter_v1.pdf
Riders must be able to do the following, as a minimum, and on flat pedals:
• Wheelie distance of 3 metres
• Manual distance of 3 metres
• Bunny hop height and distance of 15cm
• Can track stand for 15 seconds
If you can do the above, and would like to be considered for MTB RSRs next year, please email me directly. It is preferred that riders email me, rather than parents. Can you please include your name, date of birth, and BC number.
Please note, not every rider who puts themselves forward will be nominated, as the club need to ensure you are ready to take part in RSRs.
If you have any questions please let me know directly.
Thanks
Matt Carey
