Our friends at Solent Pirates have been in touch, as they are again organising the British Schools Cycling Association hill climb championship. A few PPV riders took part in 2016 and had a fantastic time. The event was really well organised and very friendly, including a mass impromptu football match while the results were collated! The hill used is not steep, with a shorter version for younger riders, and it is a great opportunity to take part in this type of event.
They are also organising the hard track championship the following day in Portsmouth, and I expect that will be equally as good.
Details from the organiser can be found below:
Following the success of last years National & Regional Hill Climb Event, Solent Pirates Youth Cycling Club, once again will be supporting in conjunction with Ditcham Park School and Aximo – Saturday 17th June 2017. In addition to the Hill Climb event we have also arranged for a Hard Track event to be held on the following day at the Portsmouth – Mountbatten outdoor cycling track .
