With the 2016 club champions recently crowned we move swiftly on to the 2017 championship!
The first event is the club cyclocross championship, which this year is on Sunday 22nd January 2017, at Dalton Barracks, Abingdon. As in previous years we are making use of a round of the Wessex CX league to host the event.
Details of the event can be found on the Wessex CX website:
http://www.wessexcx.co.uk/calendar/2016_rnd_14-2/
Entry can be done in advance via the British Cycling website:
https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/153156/Wessex-Cyclo-Cross-League-Round-12
(Please note there is an issue with the U10s where it says entries are closed. The organiser is waiting on BC to fix it).
All entries are to be submitted via the BC website, or on the day as with any other Wessex CX race (though you save money by entering in advance), and NOT through PPV.
Please make sure you enter your details correctly when signing up, including your age category, as we will be using the results sheet to extract the PPV riders and produce the club championship results. If you are the first PPV rider in the results for your age and gender you will be crowned club champion, no matter where you finish in the overall results. If you have any questions regarding how the race will run, please get in touch.
For those of you new to Cyclocross, or are wondering if you should take part or not (you should, it is great fun!), we have attached an updated version of the guide Fiona put together last year. Also, parents/coaches are more than welcome to come along and race!
