The first Palmer Park Velo race day of 2015 is going to be held on Sunday June 7th. Sign-on and gear check will run from 8.45-9.15 with racing starting at 9.30 promptly. All riders wishing to take part must register online by 2nd June using the form below:

Race days are for members only, and only riders who have pre-registered will be able to take part. There is NO entry on the day. They are intended to provide members with experience in race days and prepare them for racing both at PPV club champs and also externally to the club.
U16 and U14 riders are to ride on fixed wheel, all other age categories should ride on free wheel bikes.
See here for the current club records (or check your email), some targets for the day to see how you match up or indeed if any can be broken!
Exact details of the races are being firmed up but for now we are working with the below –
- Everyone: Flying 200m
- U8 -> U16 – 1-lap TT
- U6 -> Sprint seeded on 200m
- U16/U14 Elimination race U12/U10/U8 Hare and hounds scratch
- U16/U14/U12 Points races U10/U8 Bin races
We have a gear check before racing starts, and it is your responsibility to ensure your bike conforms to the relevant gearing. If you are unsure of this please see a club coach in advance and we can help you out. If you are intending to use a club bike for a race day please talk to the shed team beforehand as they may need to set-up the gearing relevant to you in advance (this can be very difficult to do on the day).
Another important aspect of race days is to give parents and helpers the opportunity to practice for the PPV omnium, and just generally be involved in a fantastic morning’s racing. As such we need volunteers so if you would like to help out, be it with holding riders at starts, judging, sign-on, gear check, cakes, anything… then do let us know by response to Tim’s email. Specifically if we can get a team to run the transponders then that would be fantastic.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on the 7th June.
Thanks
